Talking can be a Life Saver

We’ve all heard the expression “Talk is cheap” but, it is often very beneficial and can even be a life saver. Life is an adventure and even though I have chosen the scenic route through life, I have experienced many bumps along the road appearing out of nowhere (There really should be signs). Belief is the second most powerful force in the universe lagging only behind love. Despite this, belief in oneself or ideas can sometimes falter and that is the time to talk.

As a lawyer, I always did a lot of talking, that is what I was paid to do. I always felt that I did a good job for my clients and a couple of times I represented myself in disputes. At first, I wondered why I didn’t present one of my cases as good as when I represented a client. Sometimes it is just better to have two minds working in tandem than going it alone. I soon learned that a lawyer who represents himself has a fool for a client! Life is an adventure, but we often need help, and talk can provide what we need in the moment. Sometimes writing out your thoughts or even talking to oneself can iron out those bumps in the road. If you choose to talk to yourself, people might think you are a little strange. Fortunately for me I don’t run that risk, as people have always felt I was a little strange. In all likelihood, the answer you seek is already in your subconscious and talking will draw that answer into your conscious brain. Talking and sharing will help you discover new concepts and ideas. Studies indicate that you will actually feel better, relief will wash over you, aid in healing, reduce stress and even strengthen your immune system. There are two other sayings that incorporate the word talk; “You can talk” and “You should talk” and you really should talk, preferably over a cup of coffee with a friend. Come and join us at our Coffee Circles which take place the first Tuesday starting in March; talking might just change the way you think, with happiness and relief following ever so close behind. You are not alone.
